Chapter Charities 2022

Oxford UK Chapter’s nominated charities for 2022 are:

Dawn to Dusk Challenge 2022

2021 Fundraising

Despite 2021 being another difficult year with the pandemic, we are proud to say that we had many successful fundraising events raising money not only for our nominated Chapter Charities but for other good causes too……

In total we donated £910.00 each to Mind and Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

Fundraising began in January at the Virtual AGM with a raffle raising £315 for the charity
Campaign Against Living Miserably

A few months later in March as we were still unable to meet in real life we had a Coffee & Cake meet courtesy of Zoom and kicked off the donations (£80) for our 2 chosen chapter charities for the year:
Thames Valley Air Ambulance

Our next fundraiser was in June with the Iron Hog challenge of visiting 27 dealerships in 61 and a half hours and a huge congratulations to Assistant Director Mark for completing this mammoth challenge amassing a fantastic £1042 for our 2 annual charities.

This was followed by a Chapter coffee morning in July held at the dealership adding another £180 for our charities.

We were then asked to help organise and participate in a charity bike ride for a local children’s hospice – Helen and Douglas House. With the dealership’s help acting as one of the bases for the riders to ride to and from we raised a fantastic £1,385 despite it being postponed initially due to bad weather and then still raining on the new date but a great ride was still had by all and the sun did eventually turn up.

In August the Chapter was involved in The Great Relay raising money for the charity ‘Two Wheels for Life’ and so far our total stands at £180. We received the baton and Pan America bike on Tuesday evening this week (3rd August) and ride them over to Reading H-D Wednesday morning to pass them on to the Thames Valley Chapter. Some of us then stayed on a little further to accompany them down to Guildford H-D where Hogsback Chapter were ready to continue the relay over to Sykes H-D and 1066 Chapter.

Our final Chapter coffee morning of the year was held in November, where a further £172 was raised for our Chapter Charities.
